Their families and friends helped create a picturesque wedding at her parents’ farm on a beautiful day in Truro, N.S. White tents, barn ceremony, an abundance of fresh flowers, and a bbq dinner made it a perfect country wedding. When I first arrived back in N.S. a few days before the wedding, I was getting anxious about the weather because it was a constant downpour. I kept thinking, farm wedding + downpour = mud!! However, when Morgan and I woke up that Saturday the sky was clear and the sun was hot! We had a great day ahead of us!
We started the wedding day at 7:30am at the River Run Golf Course with some of the groom’s party. While they golfed through the morning sun, the bride’s party were at Life Salon downtown Truro getting their hair and make up done, and having their morning coffee. Once they were dolled up they headed back to the farm to put on dresses and keep cool in the house while guests arrived to the barn. Hay stacks were laid out for guests to sit on, and mason jars full of flowers decorated the aisle. The colour theme was pale pink and the bridesmaids’ dresses matched the flowers stunningly. As she walked down the aisle on the arm of her father, you could see the groom’s smile grow bigger and bigger the closer she came.
The reception had many laughs and happy tears as the best man and maid of honour spoke for the bride and groom. The tents were filled with flowers, teacups, wood centrepieces and adorable chalkboards. Cotton candy and popcorn were put in snack sized bags for the guests, and nanaimo bars and brownies were brought out for dessert. For the first dance, Morgan suggested it take place out on the field as the sun was setting perfectly over the hill. It was a magical moment with the music flowing through the fields and the guests gathered around to celebrate Shauna and Jeff’s perfect day.
Thank you Shauna and Jeff for having me as your wedding photographer, it was so much fun and I wish you both all the best!
